I have a confession: I don't read.
Well, that's not entirely true. I don't read as much as I should. I don't really know why, because I loved reading as a child. I can't pinpoint where the habit died off, but as my children get older, I realize I don't want that happening to them.
Recently, my son read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as a class in school. I'm an avid Harry Potter fan, so I read it along with him - which he loved! We both thoroughly enjoyed discussing the story as we read, and we've gone on to finish book two and begin book three together. (We have the illustrated editions, which I highly recommend! Find them on Amazon here. They are phenomenal.)
This year, I have decided to make a list of all the books I intend to read and be proactive about.
(Click the title to go to the book page if you'd like to find out more about it!)
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Once we finish book three, my son & I will move onto this!
- Signs of Self Utopia: My husband's book! It couldn't not make my list!
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe: This is one I hope to read out loud to my oldest daughter once we finish Pippi Longstocking.
- American Dirt
- Grace Will Lead Us Home
- The Invention of Wings
- The Testaments: I read The Handmaid's Tale in high school, and it was one of the few books I remember enjoying as a reading assignment. I have followed the show closely, as well, and have been looking forward to this next installment in the series.
- Wow, No Thank You
